NB - New Brunswick further removes restrictions

Print this Article

All zones in New Brunswick – except Zone 5 (Campbellton region) – have moved to the second phase of the Yellow level. During this time, Public Health measures and guidelines must still be followed.

Occupancy of any facility must be based on the ability to maintain physical distancing between people that are not close friends and family. Venues with indoor events with controlled entry and/or controlled seating, are required to capture contact information on persons using the facility. This will enable Public Health to conduct targeted contact tracing in an expeditious manner should there be a COVID-19 case associated with the facility.

  • Household bubble can be extended to close friends and family.
  • Non-regulated health professionals and businesses can open, including acupuncturists and naturopaths.
  • Personal services businesses can open, including: barbers, hair stylists, spas, estheticians, manicurists, pedicurists, and tattoo artists.
  • Outdoor gatherings in uncontrolled venues with distancing of 50 or fewer.

For travel:

  • Everyone entering New Brunswick at any point of entry, including airports, must stop when instructed to do so by a peace officer and answer any questions as required to support the intent of the requirements of the Chief Medical Officer of Health.
  • New Brunswick residents returning home from work in another Canadian province or territory no longer need to self-isolate for 14 days but must self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Canadian residents owning property in New Brunswick will be permitted to enter the province provided they self-isolate for 14 days, or the duration of the visit if shorter than 14 days.
  • Canadian residents can visit family members in New Brunswick provided they self-isolate for 14 days, or the duration of the visit if shorter than 14 days.

It is anticipated that Zone 5 will move to the Yellow level on Friday, June 26.
