NEW! Measurement Canada resumes evaluation of prototype devices
Measurement Canada's (MC) approval services laboratories in Ottawa have resumed evaluation of prototype devices, but with a significantly reduced number of staff. The laboratories have started accepting type approval applications as well as receiving prototype devices at its testing facilities at 151 Tunney's Pasture Driveway in Ottawa, and shipping them from there.
In addition, many of MC's calibration services laboratories are now open, but operating with minimal staff. Those in Ottawa are currently accepting and calibrating the following types of standards:
- Thermometer standards not eligible for extensions
- Small open neck provers (1 L up to, but not including, 40 L)
- Low precision pressure gauges with a maximum rated pressure greater than 300 psig
- Rotary meters with a capacity ranging from 1.4 to 65.1 m³/hr (50 to 2,300 ft³/hr) using air
- Radian standards
Some standards may be eligible for extensions, while others can only be used once permission has been obtained from MC's Engineering and Laboratory Services Directorate. More information can be found at here.
