Print this Article

Transport Canada has now confirmed that an enforcement instruction has been issued as of August 13, 2021.

As announced in previous Regulatory Affairs newsletters, Transport Canada was working towards providing a bulletin to inspectors directing that they no longer include queries regarding provision of the requalification document to owners – this has now been done.

Under this instruction, only the requirement of 5.10(6) that specifies the requalification facility keep the report for 10 years will continue to be enforced. The remainder of 5.10(6) with regards to the owner being given a copy, keeping it and transferring a copy of the document will not be enforced.

Should members run into any issues with inspectors continuing to require this portion of the regulation, please contact VP of Regulatory Affairs and Safety, Robert Loenhart at robertloenhart@propane.ca.
