REMINDER – Recall notice of Usines Giant Factories gas water heaters

Health Canada has issued a recall of certain gas water heaters distributed by Usines Giant Factories Inc. between March 11, 2021 and March 24, 2021.

Product: Usines Giant Factories Inc. gas water heaters.

Models: UG60-50MF1-N2U, Serial numbers A 9795627 and A 9795628. UG50-40LF-N2U, Serial numbers A 9795911, A 9795923, A 9801980, and A 9802004.

Issue: Usines Giant Factories Inc. has discovered that certain models of its atmospheric gas water heaters were manufactured using the incorrect model of flue reducer, which may pose a carbon monoxide leak hazard.

What to do: Canadian consumers in possession of one of the recalled products should turn off the water heater and contact Giant to make arrangements for a qualified technician to replace the incorrect flue reducer.
