REMINDER – Seven months remaining for updating electronic logging devices in trucks

Print this Article

This is a reminder that the soft-enforcement period for the installation electronic devices (ELDs) in federally regulated commercial vehicles is ending in seven months.

The enforcement period provides drivers with time to identify, integrate and install an approved ELD, without being penalized.

The federal regulation, which came into force on June 12, 2021, requires drivers to install ELDs in their vehicles to help ensure they are compliant with hours of service regulations.

To date, six suppliers have been accredited by the government, ISAAC Instruments being the most recent. The complete list of certified electronic logging devices is available here.
