UPDATE – ON: Extension for reporting timeline for agriculture boiler and pressure vessel equipment

In response to stakeholder input, on October 1, 2021, Ontario’s Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) is giving agricultural owners and operators an additional month to produce a report on existing boiler and pressure vessel (BPV) equipment.

TSSA issued an Information Order requiring owners and operators of agricultural BPV equipment to report existing equipment installed before July 1, 2021 by November 30, 2021.

TSSA says it needs this basic information to conduct a site risk assessment and establish a priority list for scheduling an inspection, required to be conducted within five years. Inspection priority will be based on agricultural operations with high-risk sites.
