UPDATE – ON: CPA reviews industry challenges with electronic logging devices in government meeting

On December 1, 2021, CPA Senior VP, Regulatory Affairs and Safety, Rob Loenhart and Dowler Karn Senior Manager, Fleet, Service & Capital Assets, Dave Chaplow, met with Ministry of Transportation staff member Rob Elliot and Carrier Safety Branch Manager Andrew Chase to review industry challenges in meeting the deadline to install electronic logging devices in propane fleets by June 2022.

Ministry representatives listened to the issues that federally regulated propane carriers have had in adhering to this safety initiative and agreed to investigate concerns raised by Ontario propane fleet managers. 

The CPA will report back to members on the ministry’s response to this request for latitude in meeting the current deadline.
