Technical Safety BC (TSBC) has issued an information bulletin detailing the regulatory requirements for dealers to maintain records involving the sale of gas regulated products.
Dealers must hold a record containing the name and address of the purchaser, the place of installation and the type and model number of the appliance (Section 33, Gas Safety Regulation) for a seven-year period.
Failure to comply with the requirements may result in enforcement action.
TSBC also took the opportunity to remind the public of the elevated risks associated with regulated work performed by non-licensed gas contractors, unqualified individuals and work done without installation permits.
