ON: TSSA – PAC Update – Regulatory Modernization Initiative

On October 4, 2018, the TSSA presented the Regulatory Modernization Initiative Plan and Roadmap to the Propane Advisory Council (PAC). The initiative, which is estimated to begin at the start of Q4 2018, will look at new regulation and compliance models that it says are aimed at transitioning the TSSA to a modern regulator by developing and implementing a framework that:

• is built on a foundation of trust, collaboration and innovation;
• provides confidence to all stakeholders that the TSSA is demonstrably focused on reducing safety risks; and
• is flexible and adaptable enough to reduce unnecessary regulatory burden and facilitate growth.

The CPA welcomes the proactive and early consultation brought forward by the TSSA on this important initiative. CPA has invited the TSSA for a formal presentation at upcoming regional committee meetings and encourages members to provide their input by sending comments to the CPA.
