Transportation of Dangerous Goods Training Standard released for 60-day public review

Transport Canada is looking for feedback on the draft of the CAN/CGSB 192.3 – Transportation of Dangerous Goods Training, Assessment and Competency. Once the standard is finalized, it will be adopted into part 6 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations. Comments must be submitted on this form by October 24, 2019.

The CPA has been working with others to develop and comment on the new standard. The Association has ensured that this standard will not affect the industry’s capacity to continue to provide training, including the PTI course, Transportation of Dangerous Goods – Propane/LPG Specific – 100-03 and that there will be no additional requirement adding costs or administrative burden.

The CPA is pleased to advise that this PTI 100-03 course will meet the updated requirements, with a few minor modifications required for air transportation. Once the final standard comes into effect, updates will be completed.

The CPA will continue working with the committee and update members and trainers on the status of the standard.
