The Technical Safety and Standard Authority has posted revised guidelines in their response to COVID-19 on their website.
The TSSA has stated that most inspection requirements that may have been deferred during the onset of COVID-19 restrictions must now resume and must be completed no later than November 30, 2020. The CPA responded that this deadline is inadequate for many ongoing regular inspection requirements, with larger organizations requiring several months of advance notice to clear their backlog. The TSSA replied that the Statutory Directors in each program area will consider extensions where they are warranted. If your company is unable to clear its backlog by November 30, then you must submit a proposed schedule to the Statutory Director detailing your process, timelines for completing inspections and identify how many inspections are backlogged.
Inspections must respect physical distancing requirements.
