The CPA is requesting its Transportation Committee create a working group to formulate a proposal for a pre-approved hours of service (HOS) exemption plan.
The working group will prepare a docket for submission to the Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
This exemption plan would allow quicker implementation of extensions for specific reasons such as weather, rail service, and other disruptions that may cause a backlog of propane deliveries. Specific measures would ensure driver safety and only a minimal added allowance to HOS extensions.
The implementation would be used in short-term applications while strictly monitoring driver compliance and health.
