The CPA and members of the CPA E2 working group met with Environment and Climate Change Canada on Oct. 18, 2022, to present the recent findings from the Baker Risk study.
The group provided data to ECCC that demonstrates environmental emergency plans are too restrictive and unnecessarily implicate residential and small farm applications, adding costly burden for those who use propane. They also recommended important changes that should be made to the regulation that specify who must create an E2 plan.
Feedback from the ECCC on this initial meeting was positive. The CPA and ECCC will continue to collaborate to identify acceptable changes to the regulatory requirements.
