CPA members proposed recommendations on underground tank permitting and tank evacuation requirements at the Propane Advisory Council meeting with the Technical Safety Standard Authority held on Oct. 5, 2022. The industry’s recommendations to TSSA would result in little or no impact to the industry but would maintain the required level of safety.
As in Nova Scotia, members also recommended changes to tank evacuation requirements to allow appropriately trained personnel other than gas technicians to conduct tank evacuations. Approved training would include bulk truck operators and experienced propane personnel who take PTI’s 100-15 – Evacuation of Propane/LPG from Horizontal ASME Tanks.
