The Saber BBQ Grill recall involves only Model RA329 Liquid Propane (LP) regulators with a date code ranging between1120 and 1344. The recalled products were sold from December 2011 to April 2017 at various retailers across Canada. The grills' liquid propane (LP) regulator can allow gas to flow at a higher pressure than intended, which can result in a gas leak and flame burst from the burner knobs, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. Until recently, cylinders with US Department of Transportation (DOT) - instead of TC or CTC specifications - were not allowed to be legally filled in Canada unless they were manufactured prior to January 1, 1993. However, this is now permitted due to recent Transport Canada regulations which were developed in the spirit of Canada-USA harmonization of codes and standards. Relevant PTI Manuals will now reflect this, but no recall or discontinuation of manuals and exams will be issued for this change. PTI Trainers can expect direct notification in the coming weeks.
