On December 16, 2017, Regulations Amending the Commercial Vehicle Drivers Hours of Service Regulations (Electronic Logging Devices and Other Amendments) were published in Part I of the Canada Gazette. Transport Canada has issued a Security Awareness Advisory to stakeholders. This Advisory is not in response to a specific threat to Canada but to encourage an increased sense of security awareness in the surface modes of transportation. Over the last several years, the public has become increasingly interested in incidents involving dangerous goods. This heightened awareness of the potential impact of chemical incidents has led to a growing demand for higher safety standards from both government and industry. To go along with a new name and identity, Technical Safety BC (TSBC) has unveiled an updated and redesigned website that provides news and events, and streamlines the search for information, training and public safety. You will be able to obtain permits and pay invoices and the website is also tablet and mobile device friendly for use in the field. PTI - Propane Training Institute

Members should take the necessary steps to comply by January 12, 2018 with CSA B622-14 – Selection and use of highway tanks, TC portable tanks, and ton containers for the transportation of dangerous goods, Class 2, which requires that diesel engines on highway tanks and portable tanks containing dangerous goods of Class 2.1 and being used during loading and off-loading shall be equipped with an automatic engine air intake shut-off device.
