The current edition of Canadian Standards Association B149.5, Installation code for propane fuel systems and containers on motor vehicles, published in January 2020, is open for revision. Starting November 1, 2022, Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) will begin active outreach to former certification holders of the fuels industry whose authorizations expired between April 30, 2016, and April 30, 2021, to bring the operations back into compliance, if warranted, and ensure they’re performing safely. On April 21, 2022, the CPA presented a proposal to the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority on 2022 fees for refillable propane cylinders captured under the Hazardous and Special Products regulation.
