Due to an amendment made to CSA B620-14 - Highway tanks and TC portable tanks for the transportation of dangerous goods, Equivalency Certificate SU 10349 is no longer required.  As such, the certificate is hereby revoked.

The CPA Auto Propane Committee is seeking nominations for the position of Chair and Vice-Chair of the Committee. Completed nomination forms must be submitted to James Daniels at jamesdaniels@propane.ca no later than Monday, April 9, 2018. A copy of the nomination form is available on The Grid.

Technical Safety BC (TSBC) has recently initiated two interim measures to accommodate the new requirements for certificate renewals resulting from changes made to the Power Engineers, Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Refrigeration Safety Regulation.

The CPA recently participated in a workshop organized by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation at the end of March. The workshop was held to help inform an advisory group that has been tasked with identifying potential solutions to improve safety along Highway 401 in Ontario.

Newly appointed President & CEO Bonnie Rose officially started as head of the Technical Safety and Standard Authority (TSSA) on April 4.

The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) 2015 deadline of December 1, 2018 is quickly approaching. To help employers and distributors with their WHMIS 2015 transition, Health Canada has published the two fact sheets: Employers Transitioning to WHMIS 2015 & Distributors Transitioning to WHMIS 2015.
