AGMA Updates
Join our IHS Markit economists as they take us through the latest industry numbers and discuss important trend lines. This will be a significant presentation as we examine where manufacturing is rebounding. The economists will walk AGMA members through the macro and industry outlook. We have asked our experts to also spend some time on the materials handling sector as that sector expanded as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and we want to make sure that members understand the numbers in this important end-user market.

With the support of a unique and powerful consortium of technology companies, the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) investigated the state of Industry X in automotive. They have recently released the report, "State of the Industry X in Automotive." Brett Smith, Director of Technology at CAR, and the lead author of the paper will join us to provide an in-depth information session on what they discovered. This is relevant to not only those in auto but anyone who wants to learn more about how technology is being used to transform industries.
This new and expanded 8-hour online course is intended to provide you with a thorough understanding of the attributes of a gear and its design, which are critical to ensure the required operation and function of the gear system as expected. The features and attributes of importance to function of the gear system will be discussed and explained in terms of how to measure and inspect them. We will cover measurement techniques and inspection interpretations as a precursor to the operation of a Gear Measurement Machine (GMM). We will also explore the differences and similarities between a GMM and Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM).
This year’s SRN will be the first official "live" event held by AGMA. The event has been designed for the next-generation manufacturing leaders. We will provide presentations that address the agile skills that our current manufacturing environments require. Included in this event is a 4-hour contract negotiation class and a tour of the Clemson wind turbine test facility. We have limited registration for this event, please register early to ensure a seat.

Robot technology is often associated with dangerous, dirty or dull work. Robotic process automation (RPA) takes that concept into the digital world. As a software tool, RPA sets out to free human operators from repetitive tasks, and to boost efficiency and accuracy. It is especially useful where data needs to move between disconnected applications. But robotic process automation is evolving.
