What has been a significant technology achievement for you or your organization?
Completing Phase 1 of our implementation of the SunGard ONESolution ERP system on time and under budget. This project involved all of the departments and agency's we support and is probably the biggest project we have implemented. There were many technical and cultural challenges along the way.
What future initiatives are you hoping to accomplish in the next year?
Reimagine our approach to network security. I am not sure what it looks like yet, but the current methods most IT shops use to implement network security are no longer effective against present/future threats.
Best advice you could offer your fellow members is ...
Always remember that IT exists to provide a service. Make it a goal to provide the best service possible for all of the departments you support and your citizens.
