2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the Georgia Economic Developers Association, one of the leading organizations for economic development professionals in the U.S. In January, GEDA launched a year-long celebration by accepting a proclamation from Governor Nathan Deal on the steps of the capitol. "GEDA is using this milestone year to celebrate what our members have accomplished, but also to gain inspiration for the next 50 years," said Mike Pennington, CAE, CEcD, President of GEDA. "At our annual meeting in September, we’ll host a panel of past commissioners of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, whose collective experience goes back even further than GEDA’s inception."
