Former GSAE member Sid Kaminsky passed away on Wednesday, May 3. Sid retired from the Columbus, GA Convention & Visitors Bureau in 2014, where he was serving as the Vice President of Leisure Travel and Convention Sales. Shortly before his passing, he told his daughter what he’d like written on his gravestone: He never knew a stranger. Anyone who knew Sid, knew that statement to be true. As one GSAE member pointed out, "Sid was one of the first GSAE members I met when I joined. He taught me and others how to get the most out of GSAE."
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Sid's memory to Shearith Israel Synagogue, The Columbus Jazz Society or to Columbus Hospice. Read the full obituary here.
