GSAE takes the health and safety of our members and attendees seriously. At this time, GSAE has moved all our meetings through May 31 to virtual or are rescheduling. The 2020 GSAE Annual Meeting has moved to August 26-28, in Savannah, Georgia.
We have compiled resources courtesy of the CDC, WHO, ASAE and other sources we have deemed both up to date and relevant.
Our brilliant folks of GSAE's Pajama Brigade have also compiled some useful resources.

James Pace, GSAE Board of Directors member, passed away on March 29. James joined the Georgia Society of Association Executives in 2002 and immediately became a significant volunteer devoted to the success of the society. He was the first co-chair of GSAE’s Communications Shared Interest Group, which brought together professionals from across the Southeast to share best practices. He never missed a GSAE Annual Meeting, from Savannah, GA, to Nashville, TN, to Greenville, SC. In 2019, James joined the GSAE Board of Directors for a two-year term. James was best known among his colleagues for having a "smile that brightened every event,” but he also approached his role as a volunteer director with thoughtfulness and thorough preparation. He always put the needs of GSAE’s members and the mission of the society first. He was a beloved member of the GSAE community, and his wisdom and good cheer will be sorely missed. We will celebrate James' many contributions during a future GSAE event. Please keep James' mom, family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
Condolences
Mrs. Mary Edwards

Discover Dunwoody has garnered national recognition for their "Everything Will Be OK" phrase that has lately become an inspirational message of hope and unity.
While the unofficial motto first emerged in 2009 when local artist Jason Kofke created a mural at the Spruill Gallery, the phrase has taken on new meaning in today's world. Yard and window signs have appeared throughout the city, and even law enforcement have posted the saying on traffic signs. As of March 23, over $14,000 has been raised from donations and yard sign orders to support local artists. View their coverage.

Any organization in Georgia that employs at least one GSAE member may apply. The applications are due May 31 and will be judged on the quality of the internship experience described in the application rather than on the qualifications of the student who will fill the internship. It is the responsibility of the organization to recruit a qualified student to fill the internship, but this may be done after the GSAE Foundation announces which applications will be funded.
Watch this video and visit gsae.org/internship-grants to learn more about the internship grant program. And, please consider making a donation to the GSAE Foundation.

Mr. Choudhury, our local SBA representative, asked us to share the message below. I am also including a link to Jeff Tenebaum's overview on our website here. Mr. Choudhury is happy to answer your questions personally. (Note: This is a different loan program than the 501c3-only paycheck protection program.)
U.S. Small Business Administration is offering economic injury disaster loans to nonprofits affected by the rapid spread of COVID-19. Most private nonprofits that have been financially affected since January 31st may qualify for working capital loans up to $2 million.
The interest rate is 2.75% and repayment terms are up to 30 years. These low-interest, long-term federal loans are for nonprofits to offset the adverse economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
If any nonprofit manager wants to start the loan application right now, he/she should visit this web-link: https://covid19relief.sba.gov/#/. In case of needing technical assistance, call 1-800-659-2955.
Sincerely,
Tamim Choudhury

As associations work to help their members and affected industries overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that they are launching programs and initiatives that will be honored in future years through The Power of A Awards. This year, we encourage you to take stock of what your association has accomplished and consider applying for The Power of A Awards.
This year we are debuting new categories: Industry/Professional Advancement, Community Support and Engagement, Global Development, Diversity and Inclusion, and Advocacy. Category changes were made to encompass and recognize the full range of activities and initiatives undertaken by the association community.
The Power of A Awards provide a great opportunity to help highlight the good work your association is doing, so we encourage you to share the opportunity with your colleagues.
The deadline to apply is April 30, 2020. To find out more, or to read about the associations honored last year, check out The Power of A website.
