The Power of A Awards recognize a select number of organizations annually that distinguish themselves with innovative, effective and broad-reaching programs and activities that positively impact America and the world. President Mike Giles is proud to announce that the Georgia Poultry Federation received a Power of A Silver Award for their program All IN or ALL GONE. The Federation's campaign alerted poultry growers to the dangers of avian flu to their flocks and provided ongoing reminders of the biosecurity measures required to prevent its spread to their farms. Rob Sumner, Esq., is retiring from the practice of association law. He started Sumner & Associates, P.C., devoted to advising trade association and other nonprofit organizations, in 1990. Rob began his career in associations in 1981 and earned the CAE designation in 1983. In 1985, Rob was a founding trustee of the Georgia Society of Association Executives Foundation. In 1987, he became a lawyer and joined a law firm, but remained active in GSAE as a corporate supplier member.
Rob served on the ASAE Governmental Affairs Council and the ASAE Legal Section. He was recognized by GSAE as Corporate Member of the Year (2004) and as one of GSAE’s 90 Movers & Shakers (2007). He has remained active in GSAE and ASAE for 35 years. Read more about his career here.

BDI's board of directors has selected Larry Gluth as the organization's next President & CEO and look forward to welcoming him to BDI on Monday, August 1, 2016. Larry brings more than three decades of leadership experience in the corporate and nonprofit sectors to this position. Since 2007, he has served as Senior Vice President, U.S. and Canada, for Habitat for Humanity International. Wayne McMillan, CAE will stay on as president and CEO through Friday, July 29.

At the Georgia Numismatic Association's annual banquet, special guest and American Numismatic Association President Jeff Garrett recognized GSAE member David Crenshaw for his numerous contributions to the hobby and to the American Numismatic Association. As the Chief Operating Officer for the Industry Council for Tangible Assets, "he works tirelessly on behalf of numismatic dealers and hobbyists, traveling around the country to meet with coin clubs and other groups, deliver presentations, and provide legislative testimony on matters of great importance to our industry," said Garrett. Mary Elizabeth McMahon was hired as part of the pre-opening sales team in February 1991 as a Senior Sales Manager and has been a member of GSAE most of that time. Her Director of Sales and Marketing, Jody McIntyre, also celebrated her 25th anniversary with the hotel in May.
