The Summer 2016 class of CAEs successfully completed the CAE examination administered nationwide in May. They will be honored, along with the winter class of CAEs, during the 2016 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition in Salt Lake City, Utah, August 13-16. Read ASAE's press release, congratulating all 110 new CAEs, here. The next CAE examination will be administered on December 2, 2016. The application deadline is September 23. Ian's Friends Foundation (IFF) is thrilled to announce its new Executive Director, Amy Kane, CAE. IFF is a nonprofit organization committed to funding the support of pediatric brain tumor research. Amy joins IFF from the American College of Rheumatology where she worked for more than seven years, most recently as the Director of Awards and Grants for the association's nonprofit, the Rheumatology Research Foundation. Amy currently serves as GSAE's Membership Work Group committee chair.

The American Agricultural Editors’ Association (AAEA) has selected Association Services Group (ASG) for full-service management, effective August 1. The AAEA is a 450 membership organization dedicated to the professional improvement of all communicators across ag media. Samantha Kilgore will serve as the AAEA executive director. She joined ASG in 2011 as an intern and currently serves executive director of the Georgia Watermelon Association and the Georgia Self-Storage Association.

2016 GSAE Annual Meeting host city Athens, Georgia, is set to add 192 hotel rooms connected to The Classic Center with the opening of a Hyatt Place in spring 2017. The new hotel will be the first connected property to The Classic Center and bring the total number of rooms within one-mile radius of the convention center to more than 1,400 rooms. "We are proud to welcome Hyatt Place to Athens," said Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Chuck Jones. "The Classic Center is thrilled to now have a connected hotel to complement the convention complex," said Classic Center Executive Director Paul Cramer. Read more here.
