News Briefs
"Nonprofit staffs are busy putting out fires, trying to do more with fewer resources, and carrying out programs," said Bob Harris, chairman of The NonProfit Center: Promoting the Association Management Profession. "The assessment tool allows an executive or volunteers to step back and look at the big picture, noting whether or not a strategic plan exists, identifying potential risks and strengthening leadership training."
The tool covers ten areas common to every nonprofit, for instance, governance, risks, finances and outcomes. Each section includes the questions and rationale to develop best practices. Download the 12 page free guide at www.associationoptions.com. "It is common for exempt organizations to be so busy that they fail to notice errors and oversights," according to Harris. The document promotes sustainability.
