The 14,762 square foot building is tw stories, with a roof garden. MetroNational is pursuing LEED Platinum for The Treehouse and will host a green education program throughout the building that will include signage, touch screens in the lobby and tours.
The project has many green features including solar panels, geothermal well system, recycling program, energy efficient glass, use of recycled building materials and supplies, LED lighting, and elevator systems that use 50 percent less energy. A skybridge connects The Treehouse to MetroNational’s corporate offices in Nexen. More than a mile of Memorial City is now connected via skybridges – one can walk from The Treehouse to Memorial Hermann Memorial City without touching the ground.
More than 50 professionals representing the A/E/C industry took part in the event, including members of the AGC Houston staff.
