Peel also holds leadership positions in numerous civic organizations, serving on the board of directors of the Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Collaborative for Children, Houston Baptist University’s Center for Christianity in Business, and The Men's Center. He is chairman of the board of Houston Tomorrow, an organization dedicated to quality-of-life issues for Houstonians.
He serves the College of Architecture as a longtime member of the Dean’s Development Advisory Council and as a frequent guest lecturer.
