On August 11, 2017, Texas lawmakers entered day 25 of Gov. Greg Abbott's special session with must one of the governor's 20 priorities passed by both sides of the Capitol.However, that one item—"sunset" legislation to keep several state agencies running—was, for all intents and purposes, the only must-pass legislation facing the 181 members of the Texas Legislature.
