More than 14,000 yards of concrete were poured over the course of 20 hours this past Saturday at the new site of Hines Interests' new Texas Tower, located on the former block of the Houston Chronicle building. Gilbane Building Company's Dan Gilbane stated: "Over the past 10 years Gilbane has built over 10 million square feet office space in Houston and we are excited to work with Hines to deliver the next best in class asset.” Baker Concrete and Cemex led a continuous rotation of concrete trucks, pouring the 12-foot-thick mat foundation of the C3 project developed by Hines and its investment partner Ivanhoé Cambridge in downtown Houston. The 47-story tower is three weeks ahead of schedule and will consolidate all of Hines' Houston employees once it is completed.
