The Houston AEC community headed downtown on November 9, 2019, to showcase their creativity in the annual CanStruction Houston structure completion. Vaughn Construction teamed with PhiloWilke Partnership for the 2019 Canstruction Houston, a competition to design and build colossal structures using canned food that helps to support the Houston Food Bank. Their sculpture's theme was based on one of Texas’ favorite fast-food restaurants – Whata-Canstruction: Taking a Texas Size Bite Out of Hunger.
Rogers-O'Brien Construction teamed up with Perkins+Will to build CANdy Apple structure, which was created with more than 6,000 cans of food .
The display of sculptures is on the second level of the George R. Brown Convention Center through Nov. 16. Check out all of the submissions and help vote for our sculpture to win Public Favorite!
