The AGC Houston Government Affairs Committee hosted its annual Advocacy Breakfast featuring Harris County Judge Ed Emmett and AGC Texas Building Branch Corbin President and General Counsel, Corbin Van Arsdale. Judge Emmett highlighted the plans for the Houston Astrodome, which will receive $105 million to revitalize the aging structure. Attendees also heard about the plans for the county Flood Control District and how to prepare for and mitigate further devastation caused by flooding. Corbin Van Arsdale briefed the members on issues that the lobbying arm of AGC is doing in Austin including working on the Proposed HV 2343, which concerns the Right to Repair Construction Defects.
