AGC Houston Hosts Annual Chapter MeetingMore than 200 AGC Houston members gathered at The Briar Club February 1, 2022, for its Annual Chapter Meeting, which featured keynote speaker Michael Antonelli of Robert W. Baird & Co., Inc. At the event, the Standard of Excellence award was presented to Zeke Smith of Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Inc. Established in 1998, this prestigious award gives special recognition to an outstanding construction industry employee who exemplifies the highest standards of excellence. The award criteria is based on commitment to teamwork, professionalism, leadership, creativity and innovation, customer and community service, and passion for the industry. In addition, the first ever William H. Scott III Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Anthony G. Stergio of Andrews Myers, PC. In honor of the AGC’s only two-time Board Chair, and longtime member volunteer, the William H. Scott III Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes a member who has gone above and beyond to help support the chapter and industry. This year’s recipient stepped up for the industry in a big way during the pandemic to provide the chapter and its members with constant updates and guidance on employment law and the ever-changing dynamics.
