AGC Houston Hosts Annual Scholarship ProgramOn Tuesday, May 24, 2022, AGC Houston held its annual scholarship awards program. The event featured keynote speaker Dan Goodgame, Editor in Chief of Texas Monthly. At the program, a total of $50,000 was awarded to 23 college-bound and university students as part of the Patrick J. Kiley Excellence in Leadership scholarship. The event also recognized one individual who was awarded the AGC of America Education and Research Foundation Lanham Family scholarship. In its 26th year, the program has awarded 252 scholarships amounting to $685,000. For event photos, please click here.
The Construction Leadership Council Hosts Annual Poker TournamentOn May 19, 2022, The AGC Houston Construction Leadership Council hosted its annual poker tournament benefiting the AGC Houston Patrick J. Kiley Excellence in Leadership scholarship. The evening consisted of networking and culminated in an exciting final table round. Now Accepting RFP's for AGC's Education & Research Foundation Case Study ProgramThe AGC Education and Research Foundation is committed to the growth, development and encouragement of field research initiatives to enhance the education of construction management students. In support of this vision, the AGC Foundation commissions case studies that will provide today's construction management students with the tools to build the industry's future. Cases written by faculty-contractor teams are based on actual experience and provide students with the opportunity to work through issues in a classroom setting. The AGC Education and Research Foundation is currently soliciting proposals for the development of educational case studies related to the following topics: • Crane Safety • Incorporating Diversity and Inclusion on a Construction Site • Use of Drones in Construction All proposals are due no later than 5 p.m. EDT, June 20, 2022.
