Every year, dozens of workers die and thousands more become ill while working in extreme heat or humid conditions. There are a range of heat illnesses and they can affect anyone regardless of age or physical condition.

Employers should have an emergency plan in place that specifies what to do if a worker has signs of heat-related illness and ensures that medical services are available if needed.

Tornado Safety Tips as Summer Approaches

Although the most violent tornadoes can level and blow away almost any house and those within it, extremely violent EF5 tornadoes are very rare. You can survive a tornado if you follow safety precautions.

A good safety plan includes information on how to stay safe during a tornado, how to prepare a plan and emergency kit, staying aware of weather conditions during thunderstorms, knowing the best places to shelter both indoors and outdoors and always protecting your head.

AGC Urges Senators to Pass Measure to Protect Legal Status of Over 100,000 Construction Workers, Fix Immigration

The chief executive officer of AGC of America, Stephen E. Sandherr, released a statement in response to the passage in the U.S. House of Representatives of the American Dream and Promise Act of 2019, a measure to offer conditional green cards and extend work authorizations to individuals who are in the United States under the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Action for Children Arrivals (“Dreamers”) programs.
