On April 9, 2015, Stan Marek, CEO of Marek Brothers Systems, Inc., was inducted into Texas A&M University’s Constructor Hall of Fame. Each year, The Construction Industry Advisory Council selects an individual from the industry who has distinguished himself/herself in the industry and who has been a supporter of the Construction Science program. Pat Kiley, Principal, Kiley Advisors, LLC, presented the award and described Marek as " The very best of what it means to be a builder, a leader, an Aggie, and a humanitarian."

With support from the Texas construction industry, Rep. Cecil Bell Jr. (R-Magnolia) presented a bill before a House committee Tuesday that would require lender groups to notify contractors when a deal has gone south.

Under Bell's bill, House Bill 1208, lenders would have to let contractors know when the owner on a project 

has defaulted on a loan.

AGC has been monitoring a lawsuit filed by a city in Vermont over a waterbody clean-up plan that limits the rate at which stormwater can "flow" into a polluted stream in order to meet water quality standards. This new legal challenge is reviving the debate over whether the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) can use flow as a surrogate for controlling sediment-laden runoff.
