According to an article that ran in the February 1, 2016 edition of Houston Business Journal, "It's a precarious time for Houston-area real estate developers. But in retail's case, a new trend is poised to address the problems of rising land costs and plummeting land availability, especially inside the Loop. Basically, it boils down to retail reducing its horizontal sprawl and moving up vertically, instead."
