With nearly 60 million people worldwide forcibly displaced, continuing higher education can often be difficult or unattainable for a large portion of the refugee population. In honor of World Refugee Day on June 20, Coursera launched their new Coursera for Refugees program on the online platform in partnership with the U.S. Department of State. The Institute of International Education is an inaugural partner, along with Samaschool, Libraries Without Borders, and Blue Rose Compass. This new program allows nonprofits working with refugees to apply for group financial aid for the populations they serve.  Refugees served by these nonprofits will be able to choose from any of the 1,000+ live courses and hundreds of Specializations offered by Coursera, as they work toward envisioning a world where anyone can transform their life through access to education.
