IIE’s Rocky Mountain Regional Center will host the 10th Annual Diplomats Ball to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Ping Pong Diplomacy. The gala will be an evening of elegance and fun with dinner, dancing, and, of course, ping pong. The black tie affair will have a unique twist: IIE has asked attendees to wear sneakers so that they can take part in the table tennis.
At the event, IIE’s first-ever "Lifetime Achievement in Citizen Diplomacy" Award will be presented to William J. Hybl for his work as President Emeritus of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) during four Olympic Games. The Western Union Foundation will also be honored for their work with the Western Union Foundation Family Scholarship, which is designed to help two members of a family move up the economic development ladder through support of language acquisition classes, vocational training, or undergraduate course work.
The Diplomats Ball will be held on September 30th from 6:00 to 10:00 PM at the University of Denver's Magness Arena. Dr. Allan E. Goodman, President and CEO of IIE, and Edie Cecil, Vice President of Professional Exchange and Community Outreach at IIE, will lead the event.
