Invitation to IIE Gala Benefit: Celebrating Brazil – U.S. Exchange

You are invited to attend IIE’s annual gala benefit dinner celebrating U.S.-Brazil educational exchange on September 23rd in New York City. At the gala, IIE will present the President of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, with the Henry Kaufman Prize in honor of her vision to establish the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program, known in Brazil as Ciência sem Fronteiras, and for her efforts promoting international education as a key driver of progress in her country. Through the program, the Brazilian government will grant 100,000 scholarships to science, technology, engineering and math students from Brazil to study abroad at the world’s leading universities. IIE administers the program in the United States.
IIE is honoring Praxair, Inc. in recognition of the company’s leading role in the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program and outstanding commitment to education and corporate social responsibility worldwide. Praxair’s Chairman, President & CEO, Steve Angel, will accept the award on behalf of the company.
Fulbright alumnus Jeffrey Beers will accept IIE’s Fritz Redlich Alumni Award. Since completing his Fulbright Fellowship in Brazil in 1979, he has built a world-renewed design firm with projects in North and South America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
