Job Announcement: Executive Director at Fulbright New Zealand

The Board of Fulbright New Zealand is now seeking to appoint their new Executive Director to provide national and international strategic and operational leadership to this dynamic organization. Reporting to the Board and based in Wellington, the Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring Fulbright NZ achieves its mission "to further mutual understanding between the people of New Zealand and the United States."

Key to the role will be a commitment to excellence and the ability to effectively lead a small professional team in achieving the organization’s goals, along with the personal motivation, energy, and passion to ensure quality underpins all activities and interactions. Sound operational experience, combined with a mind-set of continuous improvement, is needed to ensure systems and processes are optimized to support the multiple programs and awards offered by Fulbright NZ. Experience with fund-raising, business development and marketing activities, political nous, an entrepreneurial flair and financial acumen are important attributes needed for this role. As the Executive Director is the ‘public face’ of Fulbright NZ, with a high profile among diverse stakeholders, the successful candidate will need to have outstanding interpersonal, public speaking, written and verbal communication skills.
