The College Board is pleased to announce a new opportunity for accredited U.S. institutions and higher education associations to participate in a 10-12 day delegation to the People’s Republic of China. Sponsored and fully funded for up to 12 participants by the U.S. Department of State, the trip will include visits to national secondary schools and universities in collaboration with EducationUSA.
Participants will deliver information sessions and workshops for students, families, and educators across the country to explain the U.S. higher education admission process and to discuss academic programs and exchange initiatives. An orientation will be held in Beijing, followed by travel to central Chinese cities (cities are TBD, but will not include Shanghai).
Program Dates
The tentative timeframe for travel is early-mid November 2011, with departure to the U.S. no later than November 22. Please note the potential conflicts with meetings of APLU, CIEE, and several NAFSA regional conferences (I, IV, VI, X, XI, XII) during this period.
Eligibility
Accredited U.S. higher education institutions and higher education associations are eligible to apply. Applicants must be aware of the role of EducationUSA advising; applications from representatives of campuses or organizations that have hosted EducationUSA advisers are especially welcome. Participants in the September 2010 EducationUSA Working Group on China are not eligible.
Application Deadline: September 9, 2011
To receive application information, email EducationUSA@collegeboard.org (subject line: "China delegation"). The application will be sent out as soon as it becomes available.
