The IIE Top 35 International Education Twitter Feeds

Twitter has become a major source of news on all kinds of topics – from the Arab Spring to all things Lady Gaga (the most-followed celebrity with over 32 million followers). Now, international educators can also count on Twitter as a source for news and views on cross-border higher education, study abroad, university rankings, exchange programs, foreign languages, and other developments in the field. Twitter has also become an excellent source of information on deadlines for scholarship programs, events and conferences, and new publications and reports.

In the past year, IIE has improved and expanded our own @IIEGlobal Twitter feed -- focusing on international education news and topics that we think are important and relevant to our work and yours. In the process of ramping up our own Twitter presence, we discovered that we have a few favorite feeds of our own. So we decided to publish our first annual list of what we consider to be among the best feeds in international higher education. If you follow these 35 feeds and read them daily, you will be quite well informed professionally. The celebrity feeds are up to you.

Note: This list is somewhat heavy on U.S. organizations and individuals. We welcome suggestions on other excellent feeds -- especially those with international higher education news and views from other countries and regions. Send your suggestions to @IIEGlobal.
