Gilman International Scholarship Program Advisor Certification: Deadline October 8
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program deadline for Spring 2014 applicants was yesterday and advisors have until October 8 to certify student applications. The Gilman Scholarship Program is sponsored by the U.S Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE). The Gilman Scholarship Program’s mission is to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go. Since 2001, with the support of Congress and the Department of State, the program has awarded over 14,000 U.S. undergraduate students of high financial need, those generally underrepresented in education abroad. For more information about the Gilman Scholarship and other helpful resources please visit the Gilman Scholarship website at
www.iie.org/Gilman.
For an application to be complete, students needed to submit their application by the student deadline and then have their application certified online by a study abroad advisor and a financial aid advisor by the advisor deadline next week. All applicants will be notified of their status by early December.
