Global Research Networks: Experiments in Internationalization
In his article in the IIENetworker magazine, author John Hearn takes a critical look at the value of internationalization and university partnerships. While acknowledging certain vital benefits, he points out several "inconvenient truths" including the "challenges of rapid expansion versus quality, rising costs versus limited improvement, and inadequate rote learning versus the development of talent." Hearn discusses these challenges in depth and recommends a stronger and more thoughtful commitment to internationalization.
