On the Power and Limits of Faculty-Led Internationalization
In the recent IIENetworker magazine, Scott Carpenter and Andrea Lanoux make the case that neither faculty nor administrators alone have the power to internationalize an institution and its culture. While faculty leadership is essential to bringing greater coordination, innovation, and vision to international education, they argue that leadership must be matched by administrators all the way up the ladder. "We must work together if we are to effect lasting institutional change," write Carpenter and Lanoux.
