Tech company and longtime WeTech partner Qualcomm is expanding their free Qcamps for middle schoolers this summer after the success of the first year's cohort. The new camps will connect 60 students from California's Vista Unified School District with a range of first-hand engineering experiences that give campers insight into how technology is used in our everyday world. Campers will problem-solve as teams, develop communication skills, and engage in prototyping, documentation, and presentation. Throughout the rest of the year students will be invited to participate in hands-on projects, mentoring opportunities, and hackathons. The initiative is part of an ongoing program designed to develop long-term interest in technology and a support greater access to STEM education.
