The Institute of International Education is seeking motivated, qualified international education professionals to provide one year of mentorship to counterparts at universities in Myanmar through the IIE Connecting with the World course. Piloted from 2013-2014, this hybrid distance course provides higher education professionals in Myanmar with training on how to develop and manage an international office. In the 2015 – 2016 cycle, IIE is offering a Level 1 Basic course and Level 2 Intermediate course. Mentors will be paired with one or two course participants from either of the course levels, providing weekly guidance on assignments and other course material.

Communication is mainly performed via e-mail and Skype. Past mentors have been critical to the success of the course by providing helpful guidance to colleagues in Myanmar who have a keen interest in internationalizing their campuses, and acting as a link for fostering closer ties between their home institutions and their mentees’ institutions. Mentorship lasts from October 2015 – October 2016 and is estimated to take approximately 1-2 hours per week.

Interested professionals should complete an application and email it to Charles von Rosenberg (CVonRosenberg@iie.org) by August 7th. To download the application and access more information, please visit the IIE Myanmar Higher Education site
