IIE is pleased to announce three outstanding panel sessions on "Commitments That Work" to be held at the inaugural IIE Summit on Generation Study Abroad. These sessions provide an opportunity to share and learn what is working to achieve the goals of Generation Study Abroad. Join us in Washington, DC, on October 1–2 to hear from experts on what is working!

Commitments that Work: Removing Barriers for First Generation Students
Generation Study Abroad aims to make sweeping change in the current culture by extending the conversation beyond the typical study abroad population. This session will explore innovative programming ideas that have been successful in increasing study abroad participation among first generation college students.

More than half of all Generation Study Abroad Commitment Partners pledged bold actions to reduce financial barriers to study abroad. This panel discusses innovative models that campuses have used to attract funding from the local community, alumni, and businesses.

Commitments That Work: Articulating the Career Relevance of Education Abroad
How can educators help bridge the gap between students and employers to better showcase the tangible benefits that study abroad brings to the workforce? This session explores what works to help students successfully link their study abroad experience to their future careers.
