EPA Launches Effort to Revisit Air Toxics Regulation at Terminals

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

The EPA has announced that it had begun a process to revisit regulation of air toxics associated with terminals, and have indicated they want to issue the rulemaking notice before the end of the year. ILTA has discussed the issue with API and AFPM to align industry comments. On a May 19 ILTA call with subject-matter experts, several members expressed interest in forming an ILTA working group with regular meetings throughout the coming months to develop in-depth comments specific to the terminal industry. While ILTA will continue to interface with API and other trade associations, it now plans to develop its own “stand alone” comments, based on member preferences and the issue’s importance to the terminal industry. Continued member engagement is crucial to our success in influencing EPA in this process. Companies seeking representation in the ILTA Air Toxics Working Group should contact Kathryn Clay at kclay@ilta.org or Earl Crochet at earl@crochetmc.com.
